The BCU's own market workbook (sheet "Entradas - Salidas") shows AIG entering 1996-Q1 and leaving 2018-Q3, and SBI entering 2018-Q4 as "Ex AIG"; sheet "Estructura empresas con serie" lists SBI Seguros Uruguay S.A. as Activa with the denomination history "AIG - CHARTIS - AIG". The same workbook also files AIG under "EMPRESAS QUE FUERON ADQUIRIDAS O FUSIONADAS", so the change may equally be read as an acquisition and rebrand.
